Six Shooters: 365 Days

A little over a year ago, five friends and I had lunch together.  All photographers, we discussed our journeys, the difficulties of working in isolation, and talked about a project that would not only connect us, but connect our images. And so, Six Shooters was born as a way to continue our photographic conversation. Our goal was to express six points of view, over six days creating a visual thread based on subject, color, light, gesture or concept.

We are each assigned a day: Monday is Nancy Baron, Tuesday is Noelle Swan Gilbert, Wednesday is Cat Gwynn, Thursday is Heidi Lender, Friday is me, Aline Smithson, and Saturday is Ashly Stohl. We use images from our archives (as many of us are film shooters), many of those images made outside of specific projects that rarely get to see the light of day. We create a visual train of sorts, where each image is in response to the image the day before.

Today, in celebration of 365 images and our first year anniversary, I am featuring a couple of my favorite conversations…if you like the idea, please “like” our Facebook page so you can get your daily dose of photography and follow our visual train.
