Here's what the curators have to say about creating the show: Happiness, joy, bliss, humor, family, fortune, satisfaction, memory and at times even subversion can be methods and means of achieving pleasure. In The Pleasure is All Mine, we hope to create smiles, lightness, and joy for our viewers. This exhibition was initially conceptualized as a response to the scarcity of contemporary exhibited work dealing with uplifting themes. Pleasure is an important and necessary part of human existence. The pursuit of happiness is both essential and mystifying to us all. Through this exhibition we hope to change the perception of pleasure, as more than the erotic and indulgent, and provide a shared experience that will bring delight to many.
The Opening Reception is Thursday, March 24, from 6-9pm, and I will be attending the Emerging Collectors’ Symposium on Wednesday, March 30, 7-9pm and the Afternoon with the Artists, Saturday, April 2, 3-5pm. Come get happy at 548 W. 28th St., Space A, Ground Floor, New York, NY 10001
