The G2 Gallery

The G2 Gallery in Venice, California is a unique photographic gallery; they specialize in environmentally themed images and projects, hoping to bring attention to our changing planet. Their upcoming exhibition, RAVE:restrospective, documents 10 ILCP RAVEs (Rapid Assessment Visual Expeditions) since 2007 and it opens on January 4th and runs through February 13th, 2011. The purpose of the RAVEs is to document a place in time at a moment when it is in imminent danger and to use those images to bring media attention to that area. Regions covered range from Equatorial Guinea, to Patagonia to Chesapeake Bay. The exhibition features 18 photographers, all who are significant image makers in the realm of conservation photography.

The International League of Conservation Photographers (ILCP) has a mission to further environmental and cultural conservation through ethical photography. They believe that awe-inspiring photography is a powerful force for the environment, especially when paired with the collaboration of committed scientists, politicians, religious leaders and policy makers and plan to replace environmental indifference with a new culture of stewardship and passion for our beautiful planet.
