Hi Aline,
Living only a stones-throw from central Ontario (http://bit.ly/G9RQ) I was draw to the work of Ben Roberts. Anyone who lives in the northern latitudes of the northern hemisphere will be able to share wonderful stories of winter ice roads and the myriad of villages that pop-up on the lakes & rivers in December and quietly dwindle away in March. Ice fishing villages that have restaurants, snow-mobile repair shops, CD/video rental stores, grocery stores - all floating on ice for 5 months of the year. And if you happen to go down-town to the land-based village you will see plenty of "Gone Fishin' " signs :-)
